2014 is the centennial year of the beginning of World War I. The summer of 1914 saw the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the declarations of war between Austria-Hungary, Serbia, Russia, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Before the end of August 1914, most of the world was embroiled in fighting that would last for four years. This week, the UVU Library is sharing its collections of books, videos, and other materials about the war to end all wars.
